What kind of soap do you make?

We use the cold process method to make all of our handmade soaps. This method requires a minimum of 4 weeks to cure. The curing period is the time it takes for the water/liquid to evaporate, creating a harder, longer lasting bar of soap.


How do I make my handmade soap last longer?

Always allow your homemade soap to dry out between uses. After each use, place the soap on a dish that allows the air to circulate around the entire bar (like a Soap Saver dish). Never leave your soap sitting on a damp flat surface or in the way of dripping water.

If you’ve purchased multiple bars, store any extra soap away from the bathroom in a non-humid location, like inside a cardboard box in your linen or bedroom closet.
We have several customers who even cut the bars in half in order to get more life from them, storing the extra half in a dry location until they are ready to use it

 

What is the difference between handmade soap and commercial bars you can buy at the grocery store?

Besides the long list of chemicals and preservatives usually found in commercial bars, most are actually detergents and not soap at all. Handmade soap contains glycerin, a natural byproduct of the soap making process. Because glycerin can reduce shelf life and shorten how long a soap lasts, the larger companies will often remove the glycerin and use it in other products like lotion. Most handmade soaps are also superfatted, meaning they contain extra oils and butters that were not turned into soap. These extra oils and butters, along with the natural glycerin, are the main difference in how your skin feels after using handmade soap versus a commercial bar.


You make all natural soap, so does that mean I won't be allergic or have an adverse reaction to any of your products

People can be allergic to all kinds of things regardless of whether they are synthetic or natural. Always be sure to check the entire list of ingredients for anything to which you might be sensitive or allergic. If you are concerned about a particular ingredient but not aware of any sensitivity to it, you can always do a small patch test before using the product on your entire body.


What kind of oils and butters do you use to create your soaps?

We use only food grade, plant based oils and butters. We try to use organic whenever possible.


What kind of fragrance do you use in your soaps?

Our soaps are scented only with essential oils.

hat is the difference between your Vegan and non-Vegan soaps?

Our Vegan soaps are free of any animal byproducts. Our non-Vegan soaps may contain Tussah Silk (cruelty-free) and/or goat milk.


What is Rosemary Oleoresin and why is it in your list of ingredients for every bar of soap?

Rosemary oleoresin is a natural antioxidant that can help extend the shelf life of oils and homemade products like soap.


Your body butters do not contain any preservatives. Will they spoil or do they need to be refrigerated?

Our body butters are created using only oils and butters.  We do not use water in any of our body or lip products. We do add antioxidants to help extend the shelf life of the oils, however antioxidants are not preservatives. If the body butters stay clean and dry, they should last at least 6 to 8 months after opening. Feel free to store them in the refrigerator if you like. Never reach into the jar with wet hands or allow water inside the jar. 

Do you take custom orders for soap?

Yes, we love making custom soaps for our customers. We have even had soap stamps made for several of our customers using their own personal logo. The cold process method of soap making requires a minimum of 4 weeks to cure. Depending on the time of year and how busy we are, your order could take up to 7 weeks to fill. It takes approximately 2 weeks to order and receive a custom soap stamp.


Do you accept international orders?

At this time, we do not accept orders outside of the United States.


Do you take wholesale orders?

Yes. If you are located in the United States and are interested in a wholesale account with us, we would love to talk with you and send you our current catalog. Simply go to our contact page and fill out the form. We will get back with you as quickly as possible.


When will my order be processed and how will it ship?

We will package and ship your order within 2 business days. We currently use the United States Postal Service to ship all of our orders.


Do you have a return policy?

We want our customers to be 100% satisfied. If, for any reason, a customer is not happy with a product, we will issue a refund or send a replacement at no charge.


I need my order super quick. Can I upgrade my shipping?

Absolutely. Just contact us prior to placing your order with the items needed and the destination zip code. We will get back with you as soon as possible with a shipping estimate and instructions for checkout.


My order arrived damaged. What should I do?

Contact us immediately. We will quickly send you a replacement (or issue a refund if no replacement is available). We would also ask that you email us a few photos of the damaged box/items so we can file our claim with the USPS.
